The unit includes a RS232 port - allowing remote operation via PC or download to printer. Store and scroll keys initialize functions via menus, submenus and lists. Interchangeable click-on/click-off fiberoptic adaptors; power 9V battery or AC.
Model 520 Laser Light Source and Model 520 CWDM Laser Light Source
The Model 520 Laser Light Source is available in either single or dual source versions, at wavelengths of 650, 780 , 1310, 1550 and 1625 nm. CWDM Sources are available at 20 nm intervals from 1470 - 1610 nm. Standard Dual wavelength sources are: VCSEL/Laser 850/1310 nm; Fabry-Perot (FP) Laser 1310/1550 or 1550/1625 nm; or Distributed Feedback Laser (DFB) 1310/1550 nm. Additionally a visible laser at 635 or 650 nm can be combined with any wavelength laser to perform fiber continuity testing, as well as standard assembly: 1310/650 nm; 1550/635 nm, etc. All features, including modulation frequencies of 270, 1000 and 2000 Hz (and external up to 1 MHz on single source units) are accessed via the three front keys. LED indicators illuminate at power on, source on, & modulation speed. Standard power levels are -10 dBm; higher power and custom units are available. CWDM sources output +3 dBm (2 mW) using externally isolated, coaxial-pigtailed, uncooled laser. Power is provided by internal 9V battery or external center negataive AC adapter port.
Model 530 LED Light Source
The Model 530 LED Single or Dual Wavelength Light Sources are available for multimode fiber applications at 850 and 1300 nm. Other wavelengths available include: 470, 530, and 650 nm for use with plastic optical fiber (POF). Powers available range from -10 to -20 dBm, depending on the fiber type to be tested and the LED source. Three front keys provide all functions and red or green LEDs illuminate at power on, source on, and modulation. Power is provided by internal 9V battery or external center negataive AC adapter port.
Model 5X0 Hybrid Light Source
The Model 5X0 Dual Wavelength Light Sources are offered with combination of LASER/LED or VCSEL/LED sources, primarily at 850 and 1300/1310 nm. Standard combinations include: 850 nm LED/850 nm VCSEL; 1300 nm LED/1310 nm FP LD; 850 nm VCSEL/1300 nm LED.
Model 520L MILES Code Universal Reference Laser Source
The Model 520L Universal Reference 904 nm Laser is a handheld instrument used to simulate a pulsed laser for testing of target acquisition devices. It includes eight user-selectable modes-1, 2, 3 kHz and External up to 10 kHz, plus MILES Codes 0, 27, 29 & 30. Six energy levels are selectable-17.5, 22, 28, 34, 38 & 43 mErgs, and the user may adjust energy output from 1 mErg to 100 mErgs (~0.1 nW to 10 nW). The user can select word sequences (1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 words), and set trigger to send MILES codes in ~1 second intervals.
Custom Laser Target Tester
An example of a Cercis custom tester included four user-selectable lengths of fiber and large input and output collimators. A USB interface allowed for computer or remote control, as well as manual length selection from the front panel A red visible laser was provided for alignment of the collimators; and also used for optical component and fiber inspection. This system was used for characterizing a laser-target system.
Model 5X1, 5X2, 5X3, & 5X4 Optical Loss Test Sets
The Models 5X1, 5X2, 5X3, and 5X4 are optical loss test kits containing various combinations of Laser, VCSEL, or LED Single or Dual Wave-length Light Sources and Optical Power Meters. Cercis will also supply custom kits adding hand tools or other supplies on a special order basis.
Model 6120 Fiber Optic Tester
Cercis 6120 combines multiple LASER, VCSEL, or LED sources along with a power meter plus a visual fault finder, within a benchtop or 1/4 rack-mount box. The RS232 port allows data transfer or control via PC. This unit can be customized to meet customer requriments. Additionally, Cercis has provided custom test systems to streamline the large-volume manufacture of fiber-coupled lasers and detectors - including in-process and final test data collections and screening. Interchangeable click-on/click-off fiberoptic adaptors - FC, ST, SC, LC, SMA and 2.5 mm universal for the power meter & FC, ST, SC & 2.5 mm universal for the light sources - are available. Sources, alternatively, may have a fixed FC (PC or APC available) optical connection.
Model 52 Visual Fault Finder
The Model 52 Visual Fault Finders enable location of fiber breaks, faulty splics or defective connectors within splice trays and patch panels, or during component manufacturing and assembly. The 635 nm Class 1 (1 mW) visible laser light glows brightly at the point of fiber breakage or severe bend , within a 5 km distance; a flashing mode increases signal visibility in bright light situations.
Model 60 Long Distance Fiber Fault Locator
The Model 60 Long Distance Fiber Fault Locator detects fiber breaks over distances up to 50 km and longer. The detector wand held near the cable emits a continuous tone when a fiber break or micro-bend is detected.
Embedded Test Systems & Custom Designs
Cercis, Inc., has provided custom test systems to streamline the large-volume manufacture of fiber-coupled lasers and detectors - including in-process and final test data collection and screening. Custom designs include: power burn-in test setup for high speed detectors,
Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) characterization and measurement setups, and automation of fiber-laser or fiber-detector alignment.
